Community Track Courses

Badminton Basic
This is a non-certification introductory clinic to promote the sport and attract people who intend to get into formal coaching. It is open to anyone above 14 years old can attend ( for members and non-members)

Junior Coach 
This course is open to members only between 14-18 years old and must have met pre-entry prerequisite (1) USAB member and (2) USAB Start Coach induction. The aim of this course is to prepare junior coaches who will primarily work as assistants at the Junior Nationals. Depending on their competitive background and desire to be involved in the High Performance Track players, Junior Coaches, have an option to apply to be considered for either the Community or High Performance Track coaching career.  

 

Level 101: Youth Coach Course
This course is open to members only above 18 years old – parents, elementary school teachers and volunteers can attend after completing pre-entry prerequisite. This course aims at introducing and teaching very young children between 6-12 years old.

 

Level 1 Community Coach Course
This course is open to members only - Level 101 Youth Coaches, Parents, middle & high school teachers, volunteers, community &  recreation centre coaching staff and players over 18 years old can attend after completing pre-entry prerequisite.  This course aims at introducing and teaching beginner youth and adults who are at the recreational level.

 

Level 2 Community Coach Course
This course is open to members only - Level 1 Community Coaches, parents, middle & high school teachers, volunteers, community &  recreation center coaching staff and players over 18 years old can attend after completing pre-entry prerequisite. This course aims at teaching intermediate to advanced youth and adult playing at the recreational level

Level  3 Community Coach Course
This course is open to members only - Level 2 Community Coaches, parents, middle & high school teachers, volunteers, community &  recreation center coaching staff and players over 18 years old can attend after completing pre-entry prerequisite and attend an assessment to evaluate their competencies. This course aims at teaching intermediate to advanced youth and adult playing and competing at the recreational level.

High Performance Track Courses

Level 1 High Performance Coach
This course is open to members above 18 years. Former USA players who are now coaching High Performance Track (HPT) players can attend after completing pre-entry prerequisite. This course aims at teaching intermediate to advanced youth playing and competing in the High Performance Track.

 

Level 2 High Performance Coach
This course is open to members above 18 years. However, this is a very controlled course which ensures that coaches who apply for this course have the necessary competency elements.

 

Former USA players now coaching High Performance Track (HPT) players, Level 1 High Performance Coaches, Level 2 Community Coach, Level 3 Community Coach  and active uncertified USA coaches with long history of coaching players in the HPT, coaches with foreign certification and former world-class players must attend an “Assessment Clinic” for Certified Assessors to assess their competencies before they are awarded the Level 2 High Performance Coach Certificate or award them as Provisional Level 2 High Performance Coach until they meet all competency needs.

This course aims at preparing high performances coaches to work with advanced youth and young adult players playing and competing in the High Performance Track preparing for national and international tournaments.

 

Level 3 High Performance Coach
This course is open to members above 18 years. However, this is a very controlled course which ensures that coaches who apply for this course have the necessary competency elements.

Former USA players now coaching High Performance Track (HPT) players, Level 1 High Performance Coaches, Level 2 Community Coach, Level 3 Community Coach  and active uncertified USAB coaches with long history of coaching players in the HPT, coaches with foreign certification and former world-class players must attend an “Assessment Clinic” for Certified Assessors to assess their competencies before they are awarded the Level 3 High Performance Coach Certificate or award them as Provisional Level 3 High Performance Coach until they meet all competency needs.

This course aims at preparing high performances coaches to work with intermediate to advanced elite juniors and adult players in the High Performance Track preparing for international competitions.

 

Level 4 High Performance Coach
This course is open to members above 18 years. However, this is a very controlled course which ensures that coaches who apply for this course have the necessary competency elements.

Current Level 3 High Performance Coaches and active uncertified USAB coaches with long history of coaching players in the HPT, coaches with foreign certification and former world-class players must attend an “Assessment Clinic” for USAB Certified Assessors to assess their competencies before they are awarded the Level 4 High Performance Coach Certificate or award them as Provisional Level 3 High Performance Coach until they meet all competency needs. Besides meeting competencies, Level 4 High Performance Coaches must be prepared to be involved in leadership roles in both coach and athlete development.

This course aims at preparing high performances coaches to work with top USA international and world-class adult badminton players in the High Performance Track preparing for international competitions.
